Next Meeting

Another great night. Regina Early Learning Centre started the meeting and spoke about one of their goals is to provide food security for preschool children and how this program is traditionally underfunded. Being Astonished spoke about how their organization assists young adults with physical disabilities to build strengths and dreams. Creative Options Regina explained that their organization develops personalized support services for people experiencing disability. Regina Food for Learning was appreciative of the $7,000.00 donation they received and how it helped purchase food for children. The January 2023 food cost doubled from 2022!

Street Culture Project, Planned Parenthood and Regina Food for Learning made compelling presentations at this meeting. Street Culture spoke about how they have been in existence for 25 years and how their organization work with homeless youth in the Regina area. Planned Parenthood have been in existence since 1986 and they spoke about how they assist with sexual health for youth over the age of 12. They are in the process of a move and have have a funding goal of $60,000 that they need to reopen. Regina Food for Learning spoke about how they provide food for school aged children in the city. They receive 20% indirect government funding and raise the remaining 80%. They provided food for 943 kids last school year. North Central Family Centre spoke about how the donation they received from the  September 13th meeting helped fund a new roof for them.
